Hello again to all

There are a number of major events in Plymouth over the next few months. I have summarised these below with the relevant dates for your diary.

Olympic Torch Relay – 19th May                                Concluding with a fantastic evening of live entertainment on Plymouth Hoe. The same day also features the Lord Mayor’s Show with a carnival procession through the City Centre.

National Armed Forces Day – 30th June                      Plymouth is fortunate to be the host city this year for the National Armed Forces Day, when everyone can see and pay tribute to our wonderful armed forces. A spectacular and exciting day of entertainment, air and sea displays and activities for the whole family is planned.

British Fireworks Championships – 14th & 15th August         The most anticipated event in the city’s annual events calendar will see thousands of spectators heading up to the Hoe for two evenings of entertainment culminating in spectacular fireworks displays.

In addition to the above Plymouth will also feature FlavourFest, P1 Powerboats series, Music of the Night and many others. I will post more details of all events closer to the time but if you want view details yourself please visit -

Easter update

A Happy Easter to all ! An update on all things Riverside below -

Our MOTORHOME SERVICE POINT (picture below) is now complete and ready to go. It has black water(elsan) and grey water drainage and a  water tap and is located outside of our first showerblock.

BAR, RESTAURANT & TAKEAWAY opening tonight for the Easter weekend.

Finally, the picture below is NOT at Riverside but in Yorkshire and just goes to show how hardy (or should that be mad) the caravanning community are ! It also reminds me to remind you that come rain, snow or sun, Riverside is open to welcome visitors every day of the year.

Another sunny day at Riverside

Morning All

Well like most of the country we are basking in unseasonably warm weather and this has brought in many spontaneous bookings (see photo). It has also encouraged many to book earlier for their break with us so a gentle reminder to all that if you are particular about dates then please get in touch sooner rather than later. Thank you to those that have commented on our new blogs and how useful they have found them. I will continue to try and keep everyone informed about all things Riverside and what’s going on within the area. The latest local news is that the local peregrine falcon project has now started their watch on the river and they expect 40,000 visitors this year ! For more details visit www.plym-peregrines.co.uk which gives full details of the project but also what delightful wildlife can be found in our area. At Riverside we have commenced work on a dedicated motorhome service point. I will blog again with further details when I have them.

Olympic Torch Route coming to Plymouth !

It’s a beautiful day here at Riverside and the street by street route for the Olympic Torch relay has just been announced. Plymouth will be the overnight host City on the first day of the relay on Saturday May 19th. Commencing in Lands End the relay will finish with an evening of celebrations on Plymouth Hoe. The relay will also commence from Plymouth the following morning on it’s way to Exeter.We are already experiencing higher than average demand for this period so please contact us early to secure your booking.

Other exciting Plymouth news is that the Life Centre opens this weekend, 24th and 25th March. A £46 million sports and leisure facility considered to be amongst the best of it’s type in the UK, the Life Centre is located only approximately 4 miles from Riverside and has already attracted attention for it’s superb diving facilities, endorsed by world diving champion and Olympic medal hope, Tom Daley. Welcome everyone to the first ever Riverside blog ! I will aim to keep all informed of the latest news, offers and events from Riverside.

As of today, construction of the 9 new SUPER PITCHES continues. Each will offer dedicated water, electric and waste facilities. They are also BIG, approximately 11m x 6m. Progress photo here. Also, we should be able to enable mobile phone top up via Reception soon. I will let you all know when this is confirmed.
